My little one is an absolute puddle-jumper extraordinaire! There’s nothing quite like seeing their eyes light up with excitement as they splash through the rain, their laughter echoing through the streets. It’s a delightful reminder of childhood’s simple joys. Of course, this means we have to be prepared with all the right raingear: waterproof boots, raincoats, and plenty of layers to keep them warm and dry. It’s a small price to pay for those priceless moments of pure joy. If your little is anything like mine, this will be the wardrobe guide that saves you.

Want to get out of the rain and book a studio family portrait session this winter?
Knowing what raingear to buy and what to avoid is essential. Anything that says “water resistant” isn’t enough for our weather here. Since the rain isn’t heavy but is continuous, you’ll need water proof in order to stay dry and warm. There are plenty of “Survivalist” experts who couldn’t survive here in the PNW without succumbing to hypothermia due to the inability to get dry. It may not be a severe cold or a severe rain, but it is constant. ALWAYS opt for waterproof over resistant.
