When I started my business I decided to focus on family photography to help mothers preserve the beautiful, fleeting memories of early motherhood—a time that often feels like a blur. For many moms, the postpartum period can be challenging, with sleepless nights, rapid changes, and sometimes even mental health struggles that make it hard to hold onto positive memories of their child’s early years. Having experienced this myself, I understand the fog that can cloud these precious moments and the longing to capture joy amid it all.
After I had my son, I experienced postpartum mental health struggles exponentially made harder with a new diagnosis – Bipolar II. I had no idea I suffered from anything more than depression and anxiety before I had my son, my symptoms were more manageable and I thought I was just a flighty artist. Add a pandemic pregnancy and it was a recipe for disaster. I struggled so hard, and now that I’m on the other side of that struggle with the appropriate mental healthcare and medication, I want to reach out and support other moms.
This drives my passion for documenting and transforming these early days into fine art heirloom pieces. The images I create are more than just photographs; they’re lasting reminders of my clients’ journeys and the authentic connections within their families. When these moments are crafted into high-quality artwork, they become timeless treasures—whether in a framed print to admire for years or a handcrafted album that one day a child might share with their own family.
Fine art photography isn’t just for today; it’s an investment in memories that can last over a century. These pieces bring my clients’ family stories to life in ways that endure, preserving the love and joy of this season. These memories are an anchor in heavy times, reminding clients of the light in those early days.
The community I serve is full of vibrant, hard-working families, especially mothers balancing careers and childcare, often with little time to be present in their own family photos. In fast-paced Seattle, many mothers feel unseen, missing out on capturing moments of joy and connection.
Through compassionate, personalized sessions, I bring mothers into the frame, capturing genuine expressions of love and connection, even amid the chaos. By offering heirloom-quality printed artwork, I help families preserve these memories in tangible forms that last for generations, giving mothers a way to look back and appreciate the beauty of their family’s story and their own presence within it.
