Elegant And Refined Maternity Portraits
Seattle studio maternity photographer for the busy mother who wants to hold her portraits in her hands and fill her home with heirlooms on the wall.
These tender moments won’t pause; let’s turn them into photographic artwork before they slip from memory.
I protect your peace and privacy by intentionally limiting my work to studio maternity and in-home newborn sessions. As someone who is deeply private and naturally introverted, I know how important it is to feel comfortable with the people you invite into such tender seasons of life. That’s why I always begin with a phone call. We take time to get to know one another, feel out the connection, and make sure the experience feels aligned before we ever step in front of the camera together. If the fit feels right, we create something beautiful together. My goal is for your session to feel less like a formal photoshoot and more like spending time with someone who already feels familiar. Calm conversation, gentle guidance, genuine connection.

a baker doesn't sell you raw ingredients, neither do i.
Printed artwork is the finished product.
I believe that no place feels like home until family photos fill the walls and albums are stacked into the bookshelves. But with an ADHD wild child of my own and a calendar full of obligations, I know that if I didn't make ordering prints part of my photo delivery process, those beloved photos would never get put up on the wall. So I built a system that makes sure you get those family portraits filling your life without making it an obnoxious hoop you have to jump through.
So before the bump becomes uncomfortable, babies become toddlers, and time plays against you, book your session and know you'll end up with keepsakes that will stay in your family for generations.
I know wrangling little ones can be a real challenge, but who better to do it than grandma? Whether you need an extra hand or grandparents are in town special for a holiday or long weekend, they're always welcome to join you at no extra cost.
Since store credit (called print credit) is built into the final part of your purchase, you can save up to $400 on printed artwork purchased directly from the online store attached to your gallery.
My client closet dresses for mom retail upwards of $100, usually around $150-200. Most are made of cotton, linen, natural fabrics, beautiful draping, and all are designed to be photographed.

My photoshoot with Lilac and Ivy Photography was the best experience I have had with a professional photographer to date. I had requested before hand that she not include my sons face in any published work which she agreed to with no questions.
Not only is Mercae an incredibly talented photographer but she is also so creative, professional and passionate about what she does. My experience with her was 10/10! I would highly recommend Mercae for all of you photography needs.
Mercae was amazing with our family for our photos! She was so kind and understanding with the crazy with 4 kids and trying to get good shots. She made all of the pictures look amazing, our family's craziness turned into magic in our photos. I love her editing style and how laid-back and easy the shoot felt. I would definitely recommend working with her. It is completely worth it!
We have a very particular toddler who shies away from new faces so we were worried what kind of photos we would get but omg they came out stunning! Mercae did such a wonderful job staying calm and helping our little out of her shell to get some wonderful memories in photos.
We enjoyed our photo session with Mercae! She was very nice, very patient, and helped us with posing to get nice family photos. Would definitely book with her again!
After seeing your photos, you'll choose one of three collections ranging from $475-800. Each collection includes digital files, some include a credit toward prints and products, ensuring you end up a set of images you truly love and an easy way to get them to fill your life.
I’ll guide you with styling and playful prompts so your session feels more like family time than posing. These lighthearted moments are often the ones parents treasure most.
Begin by scheduling a 15 minute chat with me. Share your vision and ask your questions, and I’ll guide you through locations, styling, my client closet, availability, and investment so you feel completely confident. At the end you’ll secure your date with a signed contract and a $325 sitting fee plus tax, and your session will be officially on the calendar.

Something I'm very proud of is my growing client closet of flattering, romantic dresses that otherwise would be pricey investments - saving you the money and time in selecting an outfit for mom. I also have a helpful and comprehensive guide to help you go through your kids and partners' closets.

Babies take their due date on a suggestion-only basis, with that in mind, I work with parents and reschedule as needed. I usually suggest booking your session when you're still pregnant and scheduling it for 2 weeks after your due date to allow mom to heal and connections to build.

I recommend booking a month or more in advance and planning your session for when you are in the last part of your second trimester or early third trimester, when you have a lovely bump and still lots of energy. That is, unless you are expecting more than one bundle of joy, in which case I'd recommend earlier in your second trimester.

Print credit is a set amount of money that you can use towards the cost of any tangible artwork when you purchase directly from the store inside your gallery. The store includes your choice of framed prints, loose prints, albums, canvases, whatever speaks to you.
