Embracing Film Photography: A New Chapter in Capturing Timeless Family Memories
There’s something undeniably special about film photography—the richness, the nostalgia, the way it captures light and emotion so effortlessly. While I’ve always been drawn to dreamy, heartfelt images, I recently took the leap into shooting film photography alongside my digital work. While the gallery below is all digital, I am so excited to share the film photos when they’re developed.
At a recent session, I brought along my Nikon FG and 50mm f/1.8 to use for the very first time, excited to experiment and see how it would add to the storytelling. It felt nerve-wracking to take photos with very little verification that I’d gotten things just right. It was terrifying but felt so magical to explore my passion for photography in this new way. I can’t wait to look at those images, when they’re processed and scanned, I’ll share them here.
I can’t wait to get that roll developed and see the results! This experience has only deepened my love for photography, and I know film will soon become an integral part of my sessions. There’s an authenticity to it that perfectly complements the heartfelt, Seattle family photography I create.
In the near future, I plan to offer film as part of my client experience—an added layer of timeless beauty to your family portraits. If you love the idea of warm, nostalgic images that feel like cherished heirlooms the moment they’re printed, stay tuned! Film is coming soon, and I can’t wait to share it with you.
I couldn’t have asked for a better starting point, the ethereal dress, gorgeous outfits, and dreamy natural light created the perfect session for film.
This session is also (very exciting!) PUBLISHED in a magazine!! I’ll share more updates about that soon!
