Christmas In Seattle

Enjoy this curated list of things to do for Christmas in Seattle – from my family to yours, updated 11/5/2025.

Christmas in Seattle is the best time of year, the coffee capitol of the world starts serving peppermint mochas, local businesses decorate their windows and the city is lit by thousands of twinkling lights on all the trees. While I love Christmas, as a neurodivergent mom to a neurodivergent child, we’ve had to more carefully craft our Christmas experiences to make sure everyone is having fun and feeling safe. Which means that not every celebration is going to be something we choose to participate in or we modify our visits or work within where our energy can go.

But I’ve also discovered some truly joyful, gentle gems — spaces where we’ve felt safe, welcomed, and able to be exactly who we are. So I made a list that we select our favorite holiday traditions. I decided to share this to help other mamas looking for sensory-aware, slow-paced, cozy-core Christmas activities in Seattle.

These are places that allow for softness. That don’t expect your child to stand still in line for 45 minutes. That offer smaller crowds, quiet corners, flexible timing, and a little extra grace. Because the holidays should feel like belonging — not burnout. I hope this list helps your family have a season that feels calm, connected, and just right for you.
