As a Seattle in-home newborn photographer, I believe you deserve more than quick snapshots. You deserve timeless, artistic images created right in your own home.
In-home sessions are simple and peaceful. Usually booked on weekdays, we'll spend about 1-2 hours of unhurried time together in your home. You stay in your space, your baby stays comfortable, and everything feels more relaxed from the start.
These sessions are lifestyle-focused and baby-led. No stiff posing or heavy Photoshop. Just natural moments, intentional styling, genuine connection, and photos that actually feel like a celebration of the most significant moments of your family's life.

Printed artwork is the finished product.
Your kids don't stop getting older. Life doesn't slow down. You'll never regret getting family photos. But if they don't make it to the wall or album or print, they'll simply disappear in the shuffle of your phone's camera roll.
If you do make time to get prints, do you know how to get fine art prints? Can you trust the local teenager running the print kiosk at some big box store to give you beautiful prints? Will you feel confident displaying poorly printed artwork in your home or office?
And how else will you share these with friends and family if your kids are kept offline? Grandma loves prints to put on her living room wall even more than posting on facebook.
After seeing your photos, you'll choose one of three collections ranging from $475-800. Each collection includes digital files, some include a credit toward prints and products, ensuring you end up a set of images you truly love and an easy way to make them tangible parts of your life.
I’ll guide you with styling and playful prompts so your session feels more like family time than posing. These lighthearted moments are often the ones parents treasure most.
Begin by scheduling a 15 minute chat with me. Share your vision and ask your questions, and I’ll guide you through locations, styling, my client closet, availability, and investment so you feel completely confident. At the end you’ll secure your date with a signed contract and a $325 sitting fee plus tax, and your session will be officially on the calendar.
serving mothers in the greater seattle area
Styling has always been such a big part of how I tell a story. Over the years, I’ve slowly built a client closet filled with pieces for mom that feel like something out of a memory… soft light, quiet mornings, a little bit romantic, a little bit nostalgic. I’m endlessly inspired by elegant, old-world styling, so every dress I bring in is chosen to feel elevated without ever feeling like too much.
When you book with Lilac & Ivy Photography, this entire wardrobe is yours to lean into. You don’t need to spend hours searching or second guessing what photographs well. I’ve already done that part for you, so you can just arrive and be present with your family.
I can never see myself or my family working with anyone else!
Family is a staple of the lifestyle approach I take - no crazy poses or photoshop necessary to capture the love a family shares. You and your partner and any siblings belong all together for your portraits. You'll never regret getting these poignant photos together.
I typically schedule newborn portrait sessions within the first two weeks after birth, when babies are still very sleepy, curled up, and easily soothed.
That said, every family’s experience is different, and we can always adjust if you need more time to recover or settle in. Reach out during your second or early third trimester to book and then we’ll potentially adjust plans once your baby arrives.
I'm so glad you asked! I offer a growing client closet for mothers, plus a few options for small siblings. Normally, these dresses by brands like Nothing Fits But, Doen, and Worth Collective cost hundreds of dollars - but you can wear these for your session at no extra cost.
From my own experience with my son, I know flexibility is a must for scheduling newborn sessions. I will reschedule based on your babies birth day, one of the benefits of taking only a few clients each month is flexibility for your special moment.
For every session I hold, I send an email with a list of amazing makeup artist professionals who can create natural and neutral looks that won't overpower your gorgeous face. I highly recommend hiring a makeup artist, but if that's not your preference, I've also included DIY tips to make your portraits shine.
For newborn portraits, I am happy to travel to a local photography studio or your home! I recommend booking in the morning or in the late afternoon for the best lighting.
