There’s something special about finding a studio that immediately feels like home, and that’s exactly how I feel every time I photograph at Hygge Studio in Seattle’s Pioneer Square.
Nestled on the second floor of a beautiful historic building filled with artists and other creative businesses, the studio has such an inspiring atmosphere. Before I even walk through the doors, I love knowing I’m surrounded by people making beautiful things. It feels like a little creative haven tucked away in one of Seattle’s most historic neighborhoods.
One of the things I appreciate most about Hygge Studio is how thoughtfully it’s styled throughout the year. The décor changes with the seasons, keeping the space feeling fresh while still maintaining its warm, timeless aesthetic. And with the Christmas setup coming soon, I’m especially excited. Every year the holiday styling transforms the studio into the coziest space, making it perfect for maternity and family portraits that feel elegant, festive, and never overdone.
This gallery features the wonderful Danaya, who graciously modeled for me during her 17th week of her second pregnancy. At this stage, her baby bump is still just beginning to show—which is completely normal, especially this early on. Every pregnancy is different, and while some mothers pop sooner with subsequent pregnancies, others carry a little differently. I actually love photographing this season because it captures the quiet anticipation before the bump becomes the center of attention.
Danaya brought such a calm, radiant presence to this session, and I’m so grateful she trusted me to document this chapter of her motherhood journey. Together we created soft, timeless portraits that celebrate not just a growing baby, but the transformation into motherhood all over again.
If you’re looking for a maternity photography experience that feels relaxed, refined, and beautifully styled, Hygge Studio is one of my favorite places to create. Between the gorgeous natural light, seasonal décor, and creative atmosphere, it’s a space that always inspires me—and I can’t wait to photograph even more families there, especially once the Christmas sets arrive.
And finally, a heartfelt thank you to Danaya for modeling and allowing me to share these images. It was such a joy to photograph this beautiful season of your family’s story.
