Seattle Maternity Studio Portrait Session

“My photoshoot with Lilac and Ivy photography was the best experience I have had with a professional photographer to date.

Before session I got multiple emails on various days with both a reminder of the photoshoot and tips for how to dress, do hair, and makeup in a style that is complimentary to her studio space. Days leading up to the shoot, and the day of, she was quick to respond to any questions I had.

Day of the shoot she offered to help me from my car to her studio, which with a toddler in tow and being 22 weeks pregnant was very helpful! As soon as I stepped into the studio it was arranged in a very professional and relaxing way with instrumental music setting the perfect mood for a maternity/motherhood shoot. Her studio was the perfect space for my son to play and me not to worry about hazards, aside from the necessary wiring for lighting but my 22 month old son did not pay any mind to them.

My son frequently would ask for snacks or to use the bathroom during the shoot to which I figured he could wait a few moments but Mercae was quick to put the camera down, even mid shot, as soon as he would request something, allowing me to take care of his needs promptly.

She took her time and really focused on the details which I appreciated, such as fixing any out of place hair, adjusting bunched up dresses, or directing where to move my body to get the best angle and overall shot.

I had requested before hand that she not include my sons face in any published work which she agreed to with no questions. I was surprised how naturally she could direct the perfect photos with him while also blocking his face. At the end of the session she helped me back to my car and same day had some sneak peek photos for me to look at!

Needless to say they were gorgeous.

I can’t wait to see which photos she chooses for the final gallery. Highly recommend, especially those who want photos with your littles but are too nervous to have them outdoors where they can wander off.
