The pickings for maternity clothes here in Seattle are so slim it can feel like pulling teeth to find places to shop in person. However, after searching high and low and consulting Facebook mom groups (the holy grail for finding resources in the city) I’ve found as many viable options in the area and put them into a handy dandy list that includes address and hours. I really felt called to create this list because when I was expecting my son, we were in the height of COVID and stores were closing their maternity sections left and right, so I found myself ordering clothes online, which were hit or miss for sizing and fit. It felt so frustrating that at a certain point I gave up and just wore stretchy dresses, skater dresses and biker shorts to prevent chafing. I’m happy to share that despite the shortage of maternity options, there are still options in the city for mamas wanting maternity specific wardrobe options. Here’s a list of local boutiques, because I believe in shopping small and supporting local businesses while also ensuring moms get what they need.

If you’re looking for a sweet, local place to shop for your growing family, Mini Magnolia is a little shop in Magnolia made with growing humans in mind. Their selection is curated with affordability and sustainability in mind, making it a lovely option for Seattle families who want to shop thoughtfully.
The shop also has a play corner for little ones, so you can browse while your children have a little space to play. 🌈

Village Maternity in University Village
If you want to actually walk into a store and try on maternity clothes, Village Maternity was by far the most frequently recommended option.
Located in University Village, this independently owned Seattle shop has been serving moms since 1983. Their selection includes maternity, nursing, and postpartum clothing, along with brands like HATCH, NOM Maternity, Ripe, Kindred Bravely, Ingrid & Isabel, and 1822 Denim.
They also offer personal shopping help, which can be especially nice when you don’t want to spend an afternoon wandering around trying to figure out what will actually fit your growing bump.

If you’re looking for a more budget-friendly and sustainable option, several moms recommended Sugarlump.
This Seattle consignment boutique carries maternity and children’s clothing, making it a particularly good place to look for gently used maternity pieces that you may only wear for a few months. Their inventory changes frequently, so what you find can vary from visit to visit.

While Nurturing Expressions isn’t primarily a maternity clothing store, local moms mentioned their West Seattle boutique as another place worth checking.
They carry maternity essentials alongside nursing bras, postpartum products, compression garments, and other pregnancy and postpartum necessities. They also offer bra fittings and personal shopping support.

Interestingly, one Seattle mom specifically mentioned Gap as her favorite place for maternity jeans.

H&M at Alderwood
One mom mentioned having luck at H&M at Alderwood, even though the store doesn’t have a dedicated maternity section. She found maternity-friendly pieces including jeans and a matching set.

This can be a good strategy if you’re open to looking beyond clothing specifically labeled “maternity.”
Just Between Friends Sales
For moms who don’t mind shopping secondhand, Just Between Friends is another option to keep on your radar. Their sales include maternity clothing along with baby and children’s clothing, toys, and gear.
The Seattle East/Issaquah fall sale is scheduled for October 8–11, 2026 at Pickering Barn in Issaquah.

And Then There Are the Online Options
Several moms said they ultimately gave up on finding what they wanted locally and ordered online instead.
Quince was specifically praised for its easy returns and selection of basics, while Gap was mentioned as a favorite for maternity jeans. Other moms mentioned HATCH, Next, Old Navy, Amazon, Poshmark, Nuuly, and Armoire.
And honestly? I think there’s something worth acknowledging here.
It shouldn’t be this hard to find maternity clothes in person.
Pregnancy is one of the few times in life when your body can change dramatically in just a few months. Being able to walk into a store, touch the fabric, try something on, see how it sits over your bump, and decide whether you actually feel comfortable in it shouldn’t feel like a luxury.
