I flip through my son's baby books, and my heart just hurts missing those precious moments - wishing I had beautiful portraits of a time I felt so connected to my baby boy and to the world at large in such a special, unique way. Time moves faster than we expect, and I know this not only as a Seattle maternity photographer but as a mother. I told myself I would document my pregnancy, I waited for just a moment, and suddenly my baby was in my arms.
Add in postpartum mental health struggles, which is much more common than the numbers say, and I felt like I'd never had a happy day in my whole life. I forgot the magic I'd just experienced. Looking back, I wish most of all I'd not only photographed those moments but had them turned into albums and wall art to fill my home to remind me of the good days. Motherhood has taught me that pregnancy does not wait, which is why now matters, and why turning this chapter into printed artwork is essential so this fleeting season is remembered and celebrated.

I typically photograph Seattle maternity portrait sessions between when you're in your late 2nd early 3rd trimester. The aim is to capture your gorgeous round belly before you reach the uncomfortable stage of pregnancy. This timeframe usually achieves that, though there are always exceptions, such as when you're expecting twins.
I'm so glad you asked! I offer a growing client closet that accommodates the bump, plus a few options for small siblings. Normally, these dresses by brands like Nothing Fits But, Doen, and Worth Collective cost hundreds of dollars - but you can wear these for your session at no extra cost.
I always recommend doing this early in your second trimester, to ensure that we have availability on our calendar. Most families also reserve their Seattle newborn photography session at the same time, too!
